AstroStella (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the AstroStella mobile application (the “App”) and the website at astrostella.fr (the “Website”).
By using AstroStella, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with these practices, please do not use the App.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Account information: Email address and display name when you create an account.
- Birth data: Date of birth, time of birth, and place of birth (city, country, coordinates) — used to generate your birth chart and horoscopes.
- Preferences: Language preference, notification preferences, and privacy consent settings.
- Palm images: Photos of your palm captured through the camera for palm reading analysis. These images are processed in real time and are not stored on our servers after analysis is complete.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data: Feature usage counts (e.g., number of tarot readings per day, palm readings per week) for rate-limiting purposes. We do not track individual browsing behavior or screen views.
- Device information: Device type, operating system version, and app version for technical support and compatibility.
- Push notification tokens: If you enable notifications, we receive a device token through OneSignal to deliver push notifications.
1.3 Information from Third Parties
- Payment data: Subscription status and purchase history are managed by RevenueCat and the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not directly handle or store your payment card details.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and personalize the App’s core features (horoscopes, tarot readings, palm readings, birth charts, AI chat).
- Create and manage your account.
- Process and manage your subscription.
- Send push notifications about daily horoscopes and cosmic events (only if you opt in).
- Enforce rate limits for free-tier usage.
- Respond to your requests and provide customer support.
- Improve the App through aggregated, anonymized analytics (only if you consent to usage analytics).
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with the following service providers, strictly for operating the App:
- Google Firebase (Google LLC) — Authentication, data storage (Cloud Firestore), and serverless computing (Cloud Functions). Data is stored in the
europe-west1region. Firebase Privacy Policy. - Google Gemini AI (Google LLC) — AI model for generating horoscope text, tarot interpretations, palm readings, and chat responses. Your prompts are sent to Google’s API; we do not include your name or email in AI prompts. Gemini API Terms.

- Mapbox — Map display for birth location selection. Mapbox Privacy Policy.
We may also disclose your information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.
4. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data (profile, birth chart, reading history, usage records, and chat sessions) is permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days. Backups containing your data are purged within 90 days.
5. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. You can export your data from the App under Settings > Privacy > Export My Data.
- Rectification: Update your profile information at any time through Settings > Edit Profile.
- Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data through Settings > Privacy > Delete My Account. This action is irreversible.
- Restriction: Limit certain processing activities through the privacy consent toggles in Settings > Privacy.
- Portability: Export your data in a machine-readable format (JSON) via the data export feature.
- Objection: Opt out of specific data processing (e.g., usage analytics, marketing communications) via Settings > Privacy.

6. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, including:
- Encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) for all data transfers.
- Firebase Authentication with secure token management.
- Firestore security rules that restrict access to your own data.
- Server-side rate limiting to prevent abuse.
- Sensitive tokens stored in encrypted device storage (Flutter Secure Storage).
No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children’s Privacy
AstroStella is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. International Data Transfers
Your data is processed and stored using Google Cloud infrastructure in the europe-west1 (Belgium) region. Some of our service providers (e.g., RevenueCat, OneSignal) may process data in the United States. These transfers are governed by Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
9. Cookies and Tracking
The AstroStella App does not use cookies. Our website at astrostella.fr is a static site that does not use cookies or tracking scripts. We do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA/GAID) unless you explicitly consent via the App Tracking Transparency prompt on iOS.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through an in-app notification or by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
