The midheaven, the MC, is the ecliptic degree culminating at a given time and latitude. It can fall in any sign. Capricorn starting at 270° does not mean a Capricorn sun has the MC in Capricorn, and it does not mean 270° is “career.” The birth-chart route returns angles.ascendant and the house cusps from the birth time. If the time is missing, those angles are not known, regardless of a December or January birthday.
Saturn rules this sign in the table. Saturn’s longitude is independent, often outside 270°–300°, and it is retrograde when its speed in degrees per day is negative. Cardinal earth’s squares are the other cardinal signs Aries and Libra, at 90°. The opposition is Cancer at 180°. The trines are Taurus and Virgo at 120°, the other earth signs, orb 8°. Scorpio and Pisces are the sextiles, orb 6°. Sagittarius and Aquarius are the 30° borders and are not major aspects.
The solar window crosses the civil new year. 29 December is still inside 270°–300° if the Sun has not reached 300°. 20 January is Aquarius, the next sector. A Capricorn sun sign is that test and nothing else.
